Chess as everybody knows is a game of brain. It is well-said about Chess game that “By playing at Chess then, we may learn: I. Foresight, which looks a little into futurity, and considers the consequences that may attend an action II. Circumspection, which surveys the whole Chess-board, or scene of action: - the relation of the several Pieces, and their situations III. Caution, not to make our moves too hastily.” Shri. Subhash Desai has always kept a keen approach towards this game. In the edifice of Prabodhan Joggers Park he started Chess Academy as well, with an intention of providing quality training to children willing to learn expertise in Chess. This training is provided by eminent experts.
As a move on in the Chess game ventures, he arranged International ‘FIDE’ rating tournament for Chess players, which received overwhelming response of candidates all over Mumbai. The game proved to be an unique experience for players as well as for spectators. The thoughts shared by National winner and Female Champion in chess - Rohini Khadilkar, were a treat for players, judges as well as spectators.
Goregaon residents are proud to have this kind of match being played in their own suburb. Shri. Subhash Desai is also happy by the overwhelming response received by this tournament and has planned to organise more and more tournaments of this kind for promotion of chess game and to promote the talent in this field, to provide an arena to them for their talent. |
